Dr Hexiang Yao (MBBS, FRACGP) graduated from Third Military Medical University in China in 1998 and accomplished master degree of surgery in 2003. He has worked at multiple hospitals in Melbourne/rural Victoria for about 10 years as a surgical registrar in general surgery and vascular surgery. He then settled in rural Victoria to serve the local community and obtained RACGP in 2015.
Dr. Hexiang Yao enjoys the variety of work that general practice offers in Paediatrics Medicine, Preventative Health, Chronic Disease Management especially Diabetes and its complication management, and Procedure/skin cancer operation. He has a special interest in skin cancer checks and skin excisions and has completed Diploma of postgraduate surgical anatomy from University of Melbourne as well as ASSET from Royal Australian College of Surgery. He is still working actively for surgical assistance. To assist his patients better recovery from numerous acute/chronic conditions, he obtained Australian Medical Acupuncture College diploma and is actively practice medical acupuncture for many patients.
Outside of medicine, he is happily married with three lovely boys. He loves travelling and enjoying good books.
